The Rewild Podcast

This is a sample of a podcast I co-hosted in the Spring of 2022. Rewild was a creative space to explore a sense of spirituality, take risks, embrace the unknown, and challenge ourselves to be the greatest and most authentic versions of ourselves that we could be. Our episodes represent the very act of “re-wilding”- a bold challenge to return to our natural state. Do you think you have what it takes to rewild?

We hold an immense amount of power in the ways in which we choose to see the world.  Embracing a traveler’s mindset in our everyday lives allows us to see the world with a fresh set of eyes, become better problem solvers, and release anything that no longer mentally serves us.  You don’t need to travel to a new country to adopt this mindset- it’s a mentality one can take on in their own city.  A traveler’s mindset challenges us to surrender  to the greater good, and trust in people like we’ve never had to before.  It dares us to let go of control and make room for the happy accidents.  Deliberately placing ourselves in uncomfortable situations that challenge us to grow is the only way to build confidence.  In this episode, we share the ways we can become active listeners to the signs that God places into our lives.  We unpack the notion that happiness is not a physical destination, but rather a mental one, and we acknowledge the reality that we are all recovering addicts, and that even travel can become unhealthy if used as a mental escape.

We are all called to serve this planet in a way that is unique to who we are.  When we begin the process of uncovering the most vulnerable, authentic parts of ourselves, we begin to see our purpose and the ways in which we are called to serve with greater clarity.  It is so important to let certain parts of us die in order to make room for the new parts that need to come through for us to become the healthiest, most vibrant versions of ourselves.  By stepping into the process of becoming more fully you, you are going to challenge and trigger people, and that’s not a reason for you to give up on this journey!  Remember you’re always divinely led and protected regardless of how lost or lonely you may feel.  And you are never alone. The more you wake up and tap into the piece of God within, the more you will attract the right people into your life, and the more your purpose will unfold in front of you.  On this episode, we dive into God’s will vs. our own will, coming home to our childlike state, and learning to let certain parts of our identity go to make room for the parts which need to step forward.

On today’s episode, Dorcas Padgett walks us through her journey of finding self acceptance, and how she transformed the hate she had for her name into a platform to serve and unite others around the world.  Dorcas shares her advice for empaths, and discusses the ways in which we can be present with others during their suffering without needing to take it on as our own.  The conversation flows into the importance of taking time to deepen our relationships with our inner selves, and how our relationship with God doesn’t often emerge until we truly know who we are.  Dorcas reveals the ways in which her relationship with God has evolved overtime, and her realisation that we are all extensions of the divine.  We discuss how God operates in the borderlands-the greyness of the black and white binaries we place on things.  We acknowledge the challenges of listening to the calls from the universe that come from within, and stepping into the discomfort and unknown of whatever that call may be.

We wanted to open REWILD with an episode about the current state of the world, and the importance of finding unity in a divided time.  So how did we, as a people, get here?  Is it in our human nature to create division out of our need for safety?  In this episode, we reframe COVID-19, highlighting the massive opportunities the pandemic provided people with to grow.  We believe that though COVID has had devastating impacts, we see a silver lining present, as it has exposed the deep faults present within our society, offering us an opportunity to restructure our beliefs and societal structures in a way that benefits the planet.  In this episode, we break down our identity, uncovering the things that make us who we are.  We acknowledge there may always be some level of divisiveness, but we want to set the bar higher than simply coexisting.  We dare you to hold space for people in your life who challenge your own perspectives, and to love them despite the differences you may have.  We invite you to join us in our efforts to transmute this divided world together, choosing love over fear every time.
